from General Podcast · host Channel Africa

Sudan's transitional government has ordered the immediate closure of the nation's borders with Libya and Central African Republic , the first such measure taken by the new Sudanese authorities since the demise of President Omar al-Bashir. The announcement followed a meeting between the transitional government and the government of South Darfur State, part of Sudan's western Darfur region that has suffered from violence since 2003 . The northeast African country has often complained about arms trafficked through its borders with the two countries. For more on this, Channel Africa’s Khumbelo Munzhelele spoke to Mr Mohamed Hassan, Sudan's Ambassador to South Africa
