Suffering for What Is Right: 1 Peter 3:13-17: Day 14

When suffering comes, our hope in Christ gives us courage to respond with gentleness and faithfulness.Peter asks a surprising question: "Who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is good?" Yet he immediately acknowledges that believers may suffer even when they are doing what is right,Christianity doesn't promise that obedience will always make life easier. Sometimes doing what honors God costs us something. But Peter says we don't have to be afraid. Instead, we are to honor Christ as Lord in our hearts and be ready to explain the hope we have, with gentleness and respect. Our suffering can become an opportunity for our hope to become visible.Reflection: If someone asked you today, "Why do you still have hope?" How would you explain your answer?
