Summary of the September 1, 2009 issue of JNCI

Issue 17 of the JNCI includes a commentary on the use of combination versus sequential chemotherapy in metastatic breast cancer and a study and editorial on the cost-effectiveness of cetuximab in metastatic colorectal cancer. This issue also includes research on an antibody that showed anticancer activity in ovarian cancer cell lines and a study and accompanying editorial on the overestimation of the benefits of cancer screening. In the last study, researchers evaluated whether non-skin cancer was independently associated with vulnerability and frailty in older people.
