SUMMER BASEBALL: Sterud, others ready for national stage

Soon-to-be Pipestone Area Schools’ freshman Oliver Sterud will participate in the Prep Baseball Showcase later this week. “It’s going to be really cool to see good competition down there,” said Sterud, an all-Big South Conference first-team selection during the 2026 season as pitcher/outfielder for the Arrows. “I’m going to play against the best of the best.” Oliver’s younger brother, Elliott Sterud, is one of five local Southwest Minnesota Blaze 12-under baseball players that have been invited to compete in the American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame Invitational Tournament in early August at Cooperstown, N.Y.
