Summer BreakSpot helps feed Florida’s children while school’s out

With schools closed for the summer, kids and teens 18 and under can still get free meals, through “Summer Break-Spot”—a program run by the “Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer-Services”. During the school-year, many receive free and reduced-price meals—through ‘School Breakfast’- and ‘National School Lunch Programs’. But, when schools let out for the summer, many children are at risk of hunger or poor nutrition. ‘Summer Break-Spot’ was designed to ensure that children have access to nutritious meals that they need to grow, learn, and play—and [to] help ensure [that] their bodies, and their minds, are healthy and strong, for the upcoming school-year.
