SUMMER IN THE PSALMS // DAVID’S SELAH

1)The Selah that Silences Psalm 3:1-2 NASB 1 O Lord, how my adversaries have increased! Many are rising up against me. 2 Many are saying of my soul, “There is no deliverance for him in God.” Selah. 1)A Selah that Silences 2)A Selah that Sees Psalm 3:3-4 NASB 3 But You, O Lord, are a shield about me, My glory, and the One who lifts my head. 4 I was crying to the Lord with my voice, And He answered me from His holy mountain. Selah. 1)A Selah that Silences2)A Selah that Sees 3)A Selah that Sustains Psalm 3:5-8 NASB 5 I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the Lord sustains me. 6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people Who have set themselves against me round about. 7 Arise, O Lord; save me, O my God! For You have smitten all my enemies on the cheek; You have shattered the teeth of the wicked. 8 Salvation belongs to the Lord; Your blessing be upon Your people! Selah. QUESTIONS: 1) Have you ever found yourself in a situation that seemed so overwhelming that you were unable to make any sense of it whatsoever? Almost a moment where you were left speechless? If so, describe your experiences. How were you able to navigate what was being spoken over you? 2) King David had fresh perspective of his current trials based on what God had delivered him from in previous seasons. What tools do you use to regain lost perspective in your life? We all take many blessings for granted from time to time. As an exercise, list ten blessings from God in your life and give Him thanks for them. 3) Have you ever had a time in your life where you believed God thought poorly of you? Why did you believe that? How did you arrive at that conclusion? Describe different ways you’re able to overcome these false notions about God in times of trouble and or weakness.
