Summer in the Psalms - When God Feels Far Away

Feeling distant from God is one of the most common struggles in the Christian life, and Psalm 42 speaks directly to that tension. Our souls were designed for God's presence, but life, pain, and distraction can make Him feel far away. The key insight is that our feelings, while real, are not always reliable narrators of what is actually true. Rather than dismissing those feelings, we are called to listen to them, then preach truth back to ourselves. Remembering what God has done in the past is one of the most powerful tools we have in seasons of spiritual dryness. Bringing honest, even raw questions before God is not a sign of weak faith. It is actually an act of trust. Feeling far from God does not mean He has moved. It means your soul is calling out for alignment.
