Beach life! Summertime is such a fun time for chasing the sunshine, and also seeking a spot in the shade too. The joy and impatience of preparing for a day at the beach is infused through this song, with a little bit of a reminder of what we need to do, and wear and notice to stay safe. Our beaches can have dangerous waves, so respecting the surf report and the lifeguards who help us stay safe at the beach is a key message woven into this song. There’s also a little nod to the universal parent experience of how long it can take to simply leave the house, when everyone says they’re ready, but sunscreen is still in the bottle, hats are on the hook and towels are rolled up in the cupboard!
