Hello, welcome back to another episode of Broken Record. My name is Ellie, I'm your host, and this week we are going to be talking about Sunroom. So that last song was Cadillac by Sunroom, and coincidentally, Sunroom was recently here on November 14th at Numos for a concert, and I was very lucky enough to be able to go. I went with my friend Annabelle, who's actually, on last week's episode of Broken Record, she and my friend Kate were talking about Taylor Swift, and yeah, it was really fun.

Go listen to it if you can, but Sunroom was amazing, and I'm so excited to talk about them, and I love the venue they were playing at Numos. It's a very small, intimate venue, and it was really cool, and I had a lot of fun. And yeah, so that was just Cadillac by Sunroom, and the next song I want to play is called I Want You. So as you can tell by the past few songs we've been playing, Sunroom is a very surf rock band, and they are so fun and just make me want to dance around, and I love listening to them.

And it was really cool to go to their concert because it was like, just everyone was having fun, and it was good vibes, and it was spectacular. It was really fun. So my friend Annabelle and I actually had the VIP tickets, which was really cool. So we luckily got to get let into the venue early, which was really nice that day because it was freezing in Seattle.

Like, it was so cold. My hands were like going numb, and I didn't have like a jacket or anything because I knew once I got inside I would be really warm. But it was a little bit of lack of planning on my part, but it's okay because we were only outside for like an hour, half an hour, so it was good. It was good.

And then we went inside. It was super fun, and we got to have a Q&A and hear the sound check for Sunroom, which was super cool. I asked them a couple questions, and it was very cool to hear their answers. I asked them what it was like opening for a tour versus headlining a tour, and I also asked if they have like any traditions when they go to each stop, and it was very fun because they're all like teenage boys.

Well, not teenage boys. Well, no. I think they're teenage boys. Maybe early 20s.

But they were all like super like joking around, and so it was very fun to like hang out with them, I guess. But it was really cool, and it was really cool to hear them sound check the songs because they weren't really sound checking. They were performing acoustically, which was so cool and interesting to hear like their songs stripped back because listening to their songs, they have a lot of heavy production. Like it's very intense, but like when they were just performing for us, it was just like a guitar maybe once there, and then their voices.

It was really cool. But yeah, so next I want to play Clementine by Sunroom. I love Clementine. I think that's such a fun song, and it makes me so happy.

Yeah, I love Sunroom. They are a very fun band to listen to, especially in the summer because it just makes me so happy, and the vibes are perfect. So Sunroom had an opener for them. It was Surf Trash, and Surf Trash is an Australian surf rock band, and they were super fun as well.

It was very cool to meet them, and it was insane. They were really good, and I loved when they were talking in between the sets because they did have Australian accents, and who doesn't love good accents? So I love Surf Trash, and I've been following them ever since the concert, and I'm very excited to see them again if they come back to Seattle. But yeah, it was super fun.

It was a really good concert. So the next song I want to play is Just Yesterday. Very fun song, and we actually have two more songs to play before the episode is over, but I love Sunroom so much, and I just love listening to them, and I'm very glad that we got their own episode. I actually talked about them in an earlier episode, I think in the first season was when I went to the Louis Tomlinson concert.

The first season of Broken Records is when I went to the Louis Tomlinson concert, so if you are inclined to scroll all the way down to the very beginning of my show episodes, you can find the Louis Tomlinson episode there, and you can hear me talk about Sunroom because they opened for Louis, and it was very cool, very fun. So this next song is another amazing song, one of my top Sunroom songs. It's called Soul Duster. They played that song at the concert, and it was so fun.

It was incredible, and I had so much fun at the concert. It was really cool to see them live again, and it was very full circle because I saw them as an opener first, and now I saw them as a headliner, and it was very cool. But yeah, and so I actually got the set list from the drummer, which was very cool. It was really funny because if you didn't know, Sunroom used to be a four-person band, and then their drummer left to do their own music, and so I don't know if the new drummer is permanent or if he's just subbing in for the tour.

I don't really know, but he was a friend of theirs, and I just don't know if he's there full-time or if he's just there for the tour. But anyway, he was a drummer, obviously, and so he was new to performing the songs. He wasn't there when we were created or anything, and so on the set list, there's little notes that are like, don't come in early. Make sure, don't start this until after he talks, and it's very cute and very, I thought it was very special and very unique that there was notes on it because I feel like usually when people are knowing they're going to give away a set list, they don't really write anything on it.

They're just kind of like, these are the songs, but this one had notes of make sure, don't come in before Ashton's solo, and blah, blah, blah. It was very cute. It was very cute, and it was very, it personalized them. I don't think personalized is the right word, but it made them seem more human because I feel like when you're going to a concert, you're like, these are two, I'm in a separate world and this person is in, and they're famous, they're living their lives, I'm living my life, but it's kind of merging when you see that he's learning too, and it was really cool.

It was very fun. And speaking of fun, the next and last song I want to play for you guys is called Fawn by Sunroom. Yeah, thank you so much for listening to this episode. My name is Ellie.
