Drawing on the familiar carols and the opening words of John’s Gospel, it reminds us that Jesus didn’t come for the strong, sorted or self-sufficient, but for the weak, weary and unfaithful, stepping right into our darkness so we might become God’s children. It gently invites each of us to respond, not with performance or pretence, but by simply receiving him.
