THE AWE OF GOD INTRODUCTION Deut 10v17 – For the Lord your God is the God of gods, and Lord of lords; the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality, nor takes a bribe Psalm 47v2 – For the Lord Most High is awesome, He is a great King over all the earth Psalm 68v35 – O God, You are more awesome than Your holy places Mathew Henry - 'When we have found God good, we must not forget to pronounce Him great; and His kind thoughts towards us must not diminish our HIGH thoughts of Him' ‘AWE’ – Reverential fear and respect - and – admiration for the infinite and majestic wonder of God The awe of God in us will bring forth ‘Humility’ - because of ‘His Majesty’ The awe of God is key for us to operate in greater power and authority than ever before! Every human being has been hardwired by God to live daily in awe of Him. This is the calling and umbrella of protection over every person. This is what should define and give shape to every area in our lives. The awe of God should be the thing that in some way motivates everything we think, say, and do, in every area of life and ministry. The awe of God is meant to rule over every area of our existence! Therefore, a vital ministry of the church must be to do everything it can to turn people back to the central purpose for which they were created – to live in a loving, joyful, and faithful relationship with God as our Father, and yet at the same time stand in awe of who He is! I am the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End” FINALLY When we see God as He truly is we can do nothing else but stand in awe of Him 'AWE' - Reverential fear and respect - and - admiration for the infinite and majestic wonder of God This is the God who wants to come with His revival presence and power to His church in this nation. He has come before, and He will come again, if we will meet His conditions. I believe God wants to come with 'WILD, HOLY, LOVING, REVIVAL FIRE' Does anyone here want revival? Are you willing to meet God's conditions? Evan Roberts from the Welsh Revival gave four conditions for revival: 1) Is there any sin in your/my life that has not been confessed to God? Our sins must be put away and our lives cleansed by the blood of Jesus. 2) Is there anything in your/my life that is doubtful and doesn't honour God? Have you/have I forgiven everyone? 3) Build a relationship with, and honour and obey the Holy Spirit. 4) Confess the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour, and be a loving and good witness for Him.
