John is given a glimpse of where God’s mission is headed: a countless multitude from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and worshipping the Lamb. Their salvation rests entirely in Christ, whose blood cleanses guilty sinners and brings them safely through suffering into God’s presence. This vision gives confidence to those who pray, give, send, translate God’s word and serve, because none of that work is wasted. Christ will gather his people, the Lamb will shepherd them to living water and God will wipe away every tear. The outcome is certain. Salvation belongs to our God and to the Lamb.
