Sunday Morning - August 8, 2021 - Persistence: The Judge and the Widow

At the beginning of Luke 18, Jesus tells his disciples a story about why "they should always pray and not give up.” The story he then tells is one about a widow who keeps “bothering” a judge until he finally gives in and sees that she gets justice. It’s a story about persistence, but also a story that leads us to some questions. What does this story tell us about God? Where do we find him in a story about an unjust judge? And should we take this story to mean that God will give me anything I ask for if I simply keep bothering him?
