In story 1, how does David respond to Ahimelek the priest when he asks if David and his men have "kept themselves" from women?  What lesson do you learn here (said differently—what challenge do you receive)? 3. Spears, fears, and madness—what is the impact of not-keeping the commands of the LORD as revealed in the life of Saul?  What is the choice before David, and what are the gifts of God available to David to help him choose well?  Where is God giving gifts in your life to nudge you toward him? 4. What is the challenge for David and the rest of us in story #3? 5. How might you go out to be your brother's keeper?  A commandment keeper?  One who trusts in and listens to God?
