Think for a moment about your own journey with God.  What have been those profound moments of encounter with God that have most profoundly shaped you?  How much silence stretches between those encounters?  If you don't yet have one of those moments to point to, think of other stories you've heard of others encounters, and reflect on these same questions. Have you ever been discouraged in your faith or struggled with the silence of God?  What is it that you find hard or have wrestled with? What is it that "greatly troubles" Mary?  Why is that strange? Do you believe that "the Lord is with you?"  How might wrestling with that reality shape your life and faith today and going forward?
