In this gospel, Jesus asks a series of questions, the last being to Peter: “Do you love me?”.Jesus and the apostles never proposed that people question whether or not God loves them. The clear message of the Bible regarding God’s love is summarized with finality in John 3:16. We are often concerned about God’s love for us but this was settled at the cross.The most important question in the scriptures isn’t if God loves us, that has been established. The most important question is: “Do I love Christ?”
