When we hear the Pharisees and Teachers of the Law "muttering," what connection to earlier stories might Luke mean for us to make?  How does that earlier story inform this one?  2. How is "muttering" like Self-Righteousness?  Where do you 'catch' this sin, and what is it (self-righteousness)?  Are you every guilty of this? 3. How does Jesus change the story across these three parables?  Like around the idea of repentance, or the numbers and sorts of "lost" things/people that show up in the stories?  What impact does that have? 4. In what ways can you see Jesus acting out this final parable of the Father with his sons through his interactions with the Tax Collectors and "sinners," Pharisees and Teachers of the Law in Luke 15? 5. The Father continues to invite us to join in the joyful celebration at the Lord's Table—will you take your seat there and join the meal?
