Come let us reason together (Isaiah 1:18)Meekness promises supernal blessings but has no use for recognition, praise, and power. Meekness can be present in moments of injustice and crisis at the hands of lesser men.Meekness enlarges souls, but without hypocrisy. Contrariwise, “littleness of soul” insures that only a small view of reality will be taken. The meek are unconcerned with prideful preeminence, including considerations of scale.If sufficient meekness is in us, it will keep us from becoming mired in the ooze of self-pity. True meekness has a metabolism that actually requires very little praise or recognition.Unmeekness will withhold reproof, time, talent, and knowledge from others in order to retain a seeming advantage. This is something the meek will not do. What does it require of us?What will a person who is "meek" do?
