Sunny Saturday: Weather, Traffic and Trackwork

from Wake Up Sydney

Wake Up Sydney — Weather, Traffic and Trains Saturday, 6 June 2026 Start your Saturday with a sunny forecast, a quick road check, and the key train and trackwork changes you’ll need to plan your day around Sydney. Weather Sunny across Sydney. In the CBD it’s 9.1°C now, heading for 20°C. Parramatta has a cool start before a sunny top in the low 20s, and Bondi is sunny around 20°C. Sunday looks much the same: clear skies with a range of 9–20. Traffic Surry Hills: a two-car crash on Liverpool St at Wentworth Ave is closing one of three westbound lanes. Emergency services are on scene—expect merging and minor delays. Otherwise, roads are generally quiet this morning. Anticipate busier spots around local markets, and from late afternoon Vivid crowds will build—avoid driving near Circular Quay, The Rocks and Barangaroo where possible and consider public transport. Trains and trackwork 6:30am–10:30am: reduced frequency (about every 30 minutes). Services operating Liverpool–Lidcombe and Homebush–City only; you may need to change. T1 Western and T2 Leppington are running between Lidcombe and the City. Richmond line: buses replace trains Richmond–Blacktown all weekend into Monday. Trains run Blacktown–City and Blacktown–Liverpool/Leppington on a changed timetable. Cronulla line: buses replace trains Cronulla–Sutherland today and Sunday. Trains run Waterfall or Sutherland–City Circle, and Central–Bondi Junction. Some services are making extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville. South Coast Line services are running to/from Central only (platforms 1–14). Sydney Metro is operating normally. Tip: Check your trip before you head out for the latest changes and real-time updates.
