Sunny Sunday Travel Update
from Wake Up Sydney
Wake Up Sydney brings you the latest weather, traffic and train updates for Sunday, 2 August 2026. Sydney is waking to a bright and mostly sunny winter morning, with the CBD starting at 9.2°C and heading for a top of 20°C. Parramatta is a chilly 6.2°C before warming to 20°C, while Bondi begins at 11.7°C with a forecast high of 18°C. On the roads, traffic is generally quiet across the city, but drivers in the south should take care following a two-car crash at Forest Road and Wolli Creek Road in Arncliffe. The incident is affecting both directions, with emergency services and Transport for NSW on site. Allow extra travel time and slow down through the area. For train passengers, it’s a morning to check your journey before leaving home. Extensive planned weekend maintenance is affecting Sydney Trains, with buses replacing some services between Strathfield and Ashfield, and between Cabramatta and Granville during the morning. Several services on the T1 Western Line, Richmond, Schofields, Liverpool, Leppington and Olympic Park routes are running to changed timetables, with some reduced frequencies and required changes at Lidcombe, Granville or Parramatta. There are also altered services around Hurstville and Sutherland, and all trains at Cowan and Hawkesbury River are using platform one during the morning. No Metro incidents have been reported. Stay informed, plan ahead and enjoy your Sunday with Wake Up Sydney.
