Sunny Sydney and Train Changes
from Wake Up Sydney
Wake Up Sydney starts Saturday 8 August 2026 with Johnny Rocket bringing you a clear and practical update on Sydney weather, traffic and trains. It’s another bright winter morning across the city, with mostly sunny skies continuing for a fourth straight day. The Sydney CBD begins at 9°C and heads for 19°C, Parramatta starts at 6.5°C with a top of 19°C, and Bondi sits at 10.7°C on the way to 17°C. In short: jacket weather early, sunshine by lunchtime. On the roads, Sydney is looking excellent, with no current traffic incidents reported. If you’re driving this morning, conditions are running smoothly across the network. Public transport is where extra planning is needed, with weekend trackwork affecting several train and Metro services. The T1 Western Line is running to a changed timetable, Richmond services are operating between Richmond and Liverpool only, and buses replace trains between Parramatta and Strathfield tonight from 9pm to 3am. Buses also replace trains between Olympic Park and Lidcombe all weekend. There are also changed timetables on the T2 Leppington and T3 Liverpool lines, with some passengers needing to change at Glenfield, Parramatta, Lidcombe or Cabramatta. Sydney Metro services are not running between Tallawong and Sydenham from 4am to 9am, with replacement buses operating between Tallawong and Chatswood. Johnny reminds listeners to check transport apps, allow extra travel time and plan ahead — especially if you’re travelling to Olympic Park this weekend.
