Suns Draft Koa Peat: Physicality & Potential | Big 12 Basketball News

The Suns just pulled off a steal with the 30th pick—Koa Peat, a local Gilbert native with elite pedigree, four state titles in high school, and the guy who led Arizona to its first Final Four in 25 years. Standing 6’7” with a 7’ wingspan, he’s a physical, relentless forward with a winning mindset, four USA junior golds, and elite defensive versatility. Scouts love his motor, rim-finishing, and basketball IQ—but his three-point shot and free throw consistency are work in progress. He’s undersized for a PF but not a spacing threat. The Suns are betting big on his tools, defensive upside, and proven winner DNA. If he develops his jumper, he could be a cornerstone. Even without it? He’s still a valuable, high-energy contributor.
