Surrounded by good powers faithfully and quietly, protected and comforted wonderfully, I wish to live these days with you and to pass into the new year with you. (1) 所有美善力量都默默圍繞 奇妙地安慰保守每一天 讓我與你們走過這些日子 並與你們踏入新的一年 2. Noch will das alte unsre Herzen quälen, noch drückt uns böser Tage schwere Last. Ach, Herr, gib unseren aufgeschreckten Seelen das Heil, für das Du uns geschaffen hast. 2. Still the old things want to trouble our hearts; still heavy burden of evil days depresses us. Ah, Lord, give our scared souls the salvation for which You created us. (2) 儘管過去的年日折磨心靈 艱困時光重擔壓迫我們 主啊拯救飽受驚嚇的心靈 以那為我們預備的救恩 3. Und reichst Du uns den schweren Kelch, den bittern, des Leides, gefüllt bis an den höchsten Rand, so nehmen wir ihn dankbar ohne Zittern aus Deiner guten und geliebten Hand 3. And if You hand to us the heavy cup, the bitter [cup] of suffering, filled to the highest rim, we will then take it thanksfully, without tremble, from Your good and beloved hand. (3) 若你給我們遞來沉重苦杯 滿溢著憂愁痛苦的苦杯 主啊從你良善慈愛的聖手 毫不顫抖心存感謝領受 4. Doch willst Du uns noch einmal Freude schenken an dieser Welt und ihrer Sonne Glanz, dann woll’n wir des Vergangenen gedenken, und dann gehört Dir unser Leben ganz. 4. Yet if You once again give us joy in this world and the brightness of its sun, we then wish to commemorate the past and then our life completely belongs to You. (4) 主啊若你願意再賞賜我們 世上歡樂以及陽光亮麗 讓我們紀念過去美妙歲月 把我們生命完全交托你 5. Laß warm und hell die Kerzen heute flammen, die Du in unsre Dunkelheit gebracht, führ, wenn es sein kann, wieder uns zusammen. Wir wissen es, Dein Licht sheint in der Nacht. 5. Let the candles blaze today warmly and brightly, which You brought into our darkness; let’s again follow together, if it can be. We know that Your light shines in the night. (5) 今天請讓燭火溫暖地燃燒 是你帶給黑暗中的我們 或許這會引領我們再相聚 明白你的光在黑夜照耀 6. Wenn sich die Stille nun tief um uns breitet, so laß uns hören jenen vollen Klang der Welt, die unsichtbar sich um uns weitet, all Deiner Kinder hohen Lobgesang. 6. If now the stillness is deeply ready for us let us then hear that resonant tone of the world which extends unseen around us, [and] of all Your children’s loud praise-song.
