AECI is an explosive and speciality chemicals company focused on providing products and services to a broad spectrum of customers in the mining, manufacturing, agricultural, food and beverage, and general industrial sectors. In her role, Candice, leads the strategic agenda for the group’s 7000 or so employees all of which are spread across 26 countries in Africa, South-East Asia, the USA, and Australia. Candice, who has extensive experience as an HR executive, hold an MBA from GIBS and is currently completing her PhD at UCT. On the podcast, she unpacks how she transitioned from her first job as a call centre agent to pursue a career in HR, of which she leading at the highest level. She shared key leadership insights for leading effectively in this new reality.
