Supporting Digital Literacy In And Out Of The Classroom

from NWP Radio · host National Writing Project

In this hangout, representatives from the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University will discuss the development and launch of the Digital Literacy Resource Platform (DLRP), an evolving collection of tools that a range of audiences (from educators to parents) can use to learn more about online safety, privacy, information quality, creativity, and copyright. These tools aim to empower users with knowledge about connected learning environments and other parts of the digital world. The DLRP is designed and maintained by the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University, with support from the MacArthur Foundation’s Digital Media Literacy Trust Challenge Competition. Classroom educators will also weigh in on ways the DLRP can be utilized in the classroom and brought into the curriculum design process. Participants will also discuss the importance of digital citizenship and how issues related to the thematic areas covered by the DLRP affect young people both in and out of the classroom. http://educatorinnovator.org/webinars/supporting-digital-literacy-in-and-out-of-the-classroom/
