Sura 50 Qaaf

The name of the sura is taken from verse 1. Qaaf is a letter in the Arabic alphabet. Similar to the letter k in English but it’s pronounced from the back of the throat. The Quran was sent down to people that were excellent in Arabic poetry and this was a challenge in their own language.( various other interpretations for the first letters of the suras that start with letters ). The lesson today from this sura. Verse 32. Turn often to God. Keep Him in mind,let your heart turn to him in devotion. Verse 37. A reminder for whoever has a heart , whoever listens attentively. Verse 39-40. Celebrate the praise of your Lord before the rising and setting of the sun, proclaim His praise in the night and at the end of every prayer. The repetition of praise your Lord emphasizes its importance. ( Subhan Allah) two simple words yet they have a powerful effect. May Allah bless us with learning from the Quran and teaching others.
