Surah Ad-Dukhan

In this episode, Maulana Syed Abul Ala Maududi explores Surah Ad-Dukhan, a Makkan chapter that emphasizes the significance of divine revelation, particularly on Laylatul Qadr (the Night of Decree). The Surah also warns of the consequences faced by those who reject Allah’s guidance, using historical examples like the destruction of Pharaoh and his people. This episode covers: • The revelation of the Qur’an on a blessed night, widely understood as Laylatul Qadr • The warning of a mysterious smoke (Dukhan), a sign of punishment for disbelievers • The downfall of Pharaoh and his people, illustrating the fate of those who oppose Allah’s messengers • The fleeting nature of worldly pleasures, compared to the eternal rewards of the Hereafter • The fate of disbelievers in the Hereafter, where they will beg for relief but find none Surah Ad-Dukhan serves as a powerful reminder that divine guidance is a blessing and rejecting it leads to inevitable consequences. It calls believers to reflect on their choices and strive for Allah’s mercy before it is too late.
