Surah Saba

In this episode, Maulana Syed Abul Ala Maududi explores Surah Saba, a Makkan chapter that highlights Allah’s supreme power, the blessings He bestows upon people, and the consequences of gratitude and ingratitude. The Surah takes its name from the ancient civilization of Saba (Sheba), whose people were blessed with abundance but faced destruction due to their arrogance and disbelief. It contrasts the outcomes of those who follow divine guidance with those who reject it. This episode covers: • The story of the people of Saba, their prosperity, and eventual downfall due to ingratitude • The blessings of Dawood (AS) and Sulaiman (AS), including their wisdom, power, and gratitude to Allah • The certainty of resurrection, despite the doubts of disbelievers • The power of Allah in controlling all affairs, from natural phenomena to human destiny • The difference between those who seek truth and those who remain blinded by materialism Surah Saba teaches that wealth and power are tests from Allah, and true success lies in recognizing His blessings and being grateful. It warns against arrogance and disbelief while reassuring believers that ultimate justice will be served on the Day of Judgment.
