Frank traveled to New Zealand 30 years ago on a surfing trip & never returned. Frank Russell grew up in Whittier, California & at age eight started surfing on belly boards, surf mats & body surfing. Then at 17, Frank found Cal Western University located right on the Sunset Cliffs, a Mecca for reef breaks.
