Surrendered Passivity (Luke 22:63 - 23:25)

We're covering more scripture than usual this Sunday as we approach Easter and these are difficult verses to study. Jesus purposefully laid down his rights and power to submit his body to his own creation, who mocked him and tried to destroy him. He chose a season of surrendered passivity. We also may experience times when we feel stripped of our own power. We realize in these seasons how much is actually out of our control. Our "power" was only lent to us. A surrendered power remembers God. We may finally realize we made idols of our ability to reason, we were prideful in our conclusions, we were arrogant and likely hypocritical in our judgements. There is beauty to be found in surrender.
