Surrendering The Sword, Part Three

from Greg Oberst at Large · host Greg Oberst

Welcome to Part 3 of Surrendering the Sword, the true story of former Imperial Japanese Navy pilot Nobuo Fujita. Nobuo was the only enemy pilot to bomb the United States mainland by fixed-wing aircraft in WWII and in the history of the country. This final episode of the series features a historic audio recording of the May 28, 1962 sword surrendering ceremony. The tape was made by my father, Norm Oberst, for his radio station, KURY. Surrendering the Sword was written and produced by Greg Oberst. Music and sound effects by Purple Planet, Sound Bible, and Storyblocks. Thanks for listening and sharing. Greg
