Survey Says….” No!” To $35 M Mount Pleasant School Bond Referendum

On this VIDEO episode of Southeast Iowa Today John Bain attends the Mount Pleasant Community School District School Board Special Session at the Mount Pleasant Community School District: High School Media Center in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. A Facilities Master Plan Survey Report was presented by the Donavan Group’s Jerry Gallagher. Mr. Gallagher shared the results of several questions from the survey and it was clearly pointed out by a majority of the 1,021 respondents that they were not for the Board’s plan of Elementary School Consolidation on the former Iowa Wesleyan College Campus and the closing of the Elementary School in Salem, Iowa. Other items discussed were the approval of 2025-2026 Employee Compensation Package and 2025-2026 Snack Milk Price. It all happened April 28, 2025.
