Monika Thornton was born in Columbus, GA. Graduated with her Bachelors Degree in Business Management from University of Phoenix. Wife and mother of 2. Monika became an entrepreneur in 2015 when she started her first mobile tax preparation company Power Elite Tax Solutions. After a few months as an entrepreneur Monika desired to help other women build themselves up and walk into their purpose. She established her nonprofit Powerful Beginnings Nonprofit Organization. Powerful Beginnings helps victims of domestic violence live empowered lives through transitional education and influence such as resume building, confidence building, job placement, and financial responsibility classes. As a 4 year survivor of domestic violence she wanted to provide services that would help victims of domestic violence live a life free of abuse and guilt. 6 months later she became the cofounder of Power Teens nonprofit organization. An organization that helps teen young ladies learn how to build their own business and become future business leaders. Monika believes that entrepreneurship teaches risk management, financial responsibility, and increase of leadership skill and educating young women about these behaviors will build self image and self awareness.
