What happens when the resilience of foster youth meets the power of advocacy? Tyese opens up about her experience of being removed from her home due to abuse at age nine and navigating multiple foster homes, which included facing further mistreatment. Her life took a turn for the better at age 13 when she found a nurturing environment with a foster mother, shining a light on the critical need for compassionate support within the foster care system.  Our discussion extends beyond personal narratives to examine the systemic issues many foster children encounter, particularly focusing on the experiences of Black youth.
