Surviving In Egypt (Life of Joseph) No.1- Introduction to Dysfunction

The story of Joseph is one of the most well known narratives in Scripture, one of the first many of us learn. It has been retold on stage, on screen, and in literature, both sacred and secular. But our goal in this series is deeper: to study Joseph’s life through the eyes of those redeemed by his greater Descendant, Jesus of Nazareth. As we walk through his story, we will see the manifestations of God’s power that preserved Joseph’s life and kept our hope alive. The story begins long before Joseph—with Abraham, whom God chose for no reason other than sheer grace, making promises that would shape the entire biblical story. In this first message on the Life of Joseph, we take an honest look at just how dysfunctional God’s chosen family was… and how God’s faithfulness shines all the brighter against that backdrop.
