She was first sexually abused by a step-uncle at the age of two, and unfortunately, she remembers it vividly. She endured more sexual abuse throughout her childhood from her mother’s boyfriend and was physically and emotionally abused by her mother. Throughout her adolescence and early adulthood, Lisa used alcohol to ease her anxiety and enable her to have romantic relationships. After many dysfunctional relationships, Lisa found her forever husband in 2005.Now, Lisa lives in Phoenix with her patient, supportive husband and her beloved Great Danes, whose affection comes with plenty of slobbery and bruises. She cherishes visits from her son, who lives out of state, and continues to connect with readers by sharing her story of survival and healing.
