Dr. Susan Daniel is a neuro-optometrist and the parent of a non speaking adult son with autism. To help her son, she learned how to be a communication partner and use letterboards to spell. Her training as an optometrist was useful in recommending modifications to the letterboards, as well as targeted vision therapy to assist nonspeakers, and allow them success.
