Loads to talk about when both are enthusiastic about sports (dance, running, triathlon, pilates) and entrepreneurship. 🎙️ Introduction: Guest: Susannah Steers is the CEO and owner of Moving Spirit Pilates in North Vancouver, Canada. 🧘‍♀️ Pilates Studio & Philosophy: Susannah runs a small Pilates studio with a strong emphasis on embodied movement. Her focus is on sensory awareness—mental, emotional, and physical. This awareness enhances personal well-being and leadership effectiveness. 📈 Pilates in the Modern World: Pilates has been around for decades; created by Joseph Pilates. Susannah trained with “Pilates elders” (direct lineage from Joseph). 😊 Benefits of Pilates: Brings happiness and confidence through functional movement. She helps clients overcome pain, move more freely, and feel empowered. 👩‍💼 Entrepreneurship Lessons: she sees herself as an “accidental entrepreneur”—initially an artist. She brought values of rigor, accountability, and adaptability from dance to business. She also had to learn let go of perfectionism and meet clients where they are. 🧗‍♀️ Life Outside Work: She loves hiking, being in nature, paddleboarding, kayaking, ocean swimming. Recently she picked up rug hooking (a craft using wool and a punch needle to create textile designs).
