Suspension and expulsion - why it isn’t helpful and what is

Research show that suspending students worsens behaviors, leads to more negative educational outcomes, and results in poor academic performance. So then, why are 3 million students suspended in the United States every year? Undesirable behaviors in children are most often caused by unmet needs. They are seeking connection and relationships.
