Dr. Garrett Broad, a Rowan University professor, discusses his work in sustainability within communication studies with Palma and Joe. Inspired by a course on ecological utopias during his undergraduate studies in the Netherlands, he shifted his focus from political science to environmental issues. His book, More Than Just Food, examines how community-based organizations use food to promote health, economic development, and environmental action in low-income areas. TFT is organized by the New Jersey Coastal Coalition (NJCC), a group of towns near the coast and rivers that united after Superstorm Sandy hit in 2012.
