Dr Olcay is assistant professor at the Mustafa Kemal Hatay University, Turkey. She is the first recipient of the Visiting Scholars Scheme to be jointly supported by the British Institute at Ankara. Her work is concerned with identifying dimensions of sustainability for traditional music in the region of Sanlurfa, Turkey. The visiting scholarship enabled her to conduct research at UK academic libraries and to develop relationships with traditional Turkish music groups in and around London.
