National Geographic’s Traveler named Suzanne Roberts “The Next Great Travel Writer.” Since then, she’s written two travel books, Almost Somewhere: Twenty-Eight Days on the John Muir Trail (which won the National Outdoor Book Award) and her latest essay collection Bad Tourist: Misadventures in Love and Travel. But Suzanne and Brad didn’t get into any of that. Instead, they talked about her struggles in high school with an undiagnosed learning disability through earning a Ph.D. in literature and the environment.
