Svitlana Kominko on Upcoming Event Honouring Ukrainian Women’s Stories of Loss and Resilience

Maple Hope Foundation co‑founder Svitlana Kaminko discusses the upcoming Love Knows No Death performance and the Resilience in Bloom photo exhibition taking place on August 29 at Alliance Française Vancouver, 6161 Cambie Street.She shares the story of Ukrainian psychologist Hanna Kiselyshina, who lost her son in the Olenivka massacre and later joined Maple Hope Foundation’s bereavement support and academic programs. Svitlana describes Hanna’s journey through loss, grief, and the creation of thirteen paintings that became part of the live performance, as well as Hanna’s work co‑facilitating programs for mothers of fallen Ukrainian defenders.Svitlana also outlines the Resilience in Bloom exhibition featuring twenty‑one stories of Ukrainian women who lost loved ones, including members of the Vancouver community.
