On Maed in India this week, we have multilingual hip-hop crew Swadesi that brings you rap in Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati and Bengali. We chat about why MC Mawali’s name was inspired by his mother, rapping about the socio-political context rather than girls, drugs & hoes and their latest release, The Warli Revolt, about the tribals in the Arrey Milk Colony area of Bombay who are in the throes of getting displaced due to urban development and the metro work.
