SWIM Program Back with Community Help | Huntsville News

Mobile Baykeeper is reviving its popular water testing program, SWIM, thanks to a new partnership with CrowderGulf and community support — hitting the coast again on September 11th. Paused in April due to funding, this vital initiative checks for harmful bacteria at public swim spots to ensure safe recreation. Now rebranded as the CrowderGulf SWIM program, it’s more community-driven than ever, training volunteers to collect samples analyzed in their lab against EPA safety standards. Results will be posted every Friday through September, then monthly, via their website, Swim Guide App, or email alerts. Still needing sponsors and volunteers to expand testing sites and tackle contamination hotspots, they’re calling on locals to help keep Mobile’s waters clean and swimmable.
