Sydney Mulvaney - Episode 412

Today on Salt Lake Dirt, Kyler sits down with Michigan-based tattoo artist and TikTok creator Sydney Mulvaney. Her TikTok (@sydneytattoos) and personal painting projects have built a dedicated following. In the interview, she opens up about landing her first apprenticeship at 17, navigating a chaotic and male-dominated shop culture in the early days, and the grit it took to build her career. Sydney also talks about the day-to-day realities of the job, like acting as an accidental therapist for clients in vulnerable moments. She contrasts the strict, highly planned nature of tattooing with the total creative freedom of her personal painting, where she can just experiment and pivot when a piece isn't turning out as expected. From behind-the-scenes stories about developing her online persona to her strong stance against using AI in her designs, Sydney keeps it entirely real about her path as a modern creator.
