Symbol of Faith: Part 2 - Fr. Gregory - June 12, 2022

Today in Orthodoxy we celebrate God's Spirit poured out on all flesh in the last days, Holy Pentecost. Father Gregory continues his series on the Creed, entitled Symbol of Faith, beginning with the line, "one God, Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and all things visible and invisible." Orthodox Christians believe or trust in One God worshipped in three persons. This sermon examines the first person of the Trinity spoken of in the Creed, the Father Almighty. The Almighty or Pantocrator is the one who holds all things. In Ephesians 4:6 Saint Paul says there is one God and Father of us all, who is above all, and through all and in you all. In the mind of The Church, the invisible and visible are tied together. The Almighty is the creator of all things invisible first, heaven and the angels. The Creed also tells us He actively created the material world. God is one in three persons who holds all things in His hand, even the good and the bad. The Father is first among equals and governs the universe as the Pantoctator.
