Symphony for the Soul: A Conversation with David Helpling (Pt 1) | Revealing the Mysteries with Isaac George

from KindaSound · host KindaSound

In the autumn of 1999 I wandered into a New Age store located in Portland, Oregon. As I browsed the books, my ear caught the opening strains of some otherworldly guitar and synth music. I asked the clerk what he was playing, and it turned out to be a new release entitled “Sleeping On The Edge of the World”, by a composer named David Helpling. As an electric guitarist myself, I could resonate deeply with David’s visionary style, melodic structures, and innovative use of effects processing to create a deep, ambient and dreamlike soundscape. In a word, I was hooked. After you hear David’s story, and the examples of his music, I think you may become a huge fan of his music too.David's Music and Social Media:https://helpling.bandcamp.com/ - Pre-orders of “IN”https://spottedpeccary.com/ - Pre-Orders for “IN”https://spottedpeccary.com/artists/david-helpling/ http://deepexile.com/artists/david-helpling/https://www.facebook.com/dhelplingPresented by Isaac George: https://IsaacGeorge.comAll Contact Info and Social Media: https://www.isaacgeorge.com/stay-in-touch-with-isaac.htmlTune into the show live on KindaSound Radio every Sunday: https://KindaSound.orgConnect with the KindaSound team on Telegram: https://t.me/ksradioNew podcast episodes every Thursday
