Syncretic Bio-Shelters EP. 1: Explorations

In the first episode of Syncretic Bio-Shelters, Jovana Gunjova, Paula Meier and Antonia Ablass share their experiences from their first week in Matera. Conversations with students and local residents bring heat, humidity and everyday needs into focus, opening up new directions for their creative research. From sustainable materials and digital fabrication to a donated knitting machine from the 1970s, they explore how new technologies and traditional textile knowledge can come together. "SYNCRETIC BIO-SHELTERS – Collection for surviving extreme environments" is an artist residency within the "Terre Immerse - Comunità Creative Euromediterranee” program, promoted by Fondazione Matera Basilicata 2019 for Matera 2026 Capitale Mediterranea della Cultura e del Dialogo, in collaboration with the Comune Matera. The program is funded by Ministero del Turismo and Regione Basilicata. #Matera2026 #TerreImmerse #MCCD2026
