Syracuse Defense Overhaul with Kehres | Syracuse Orangemen Football News

Syracuse is revamping its defense with the high-energy, chaos-driven arrival of Vince Kehres, bringing championship pedigree and a proven track record from Toledo. After a dismal 2023 season marked by poor stats, lack of pressure, and few turnovers, the Orange are betting big on Kehres’ aggressive 4-2-5 scheme to unlock elite talent like Tunmise Adeleye and Keyshawn Johnson. The move also signals the end of Elijah Robinson and Robert Wright, with Robinson’s return to Syracuse two years ago now culminating in this bold pivot. With a forgiving early schedule, the question is whether Kehres can fast-track this new unit into a game-changing force before conference showdowns.
